BDB Trastevere Rome
Trans Tiberim. Beyond the Tiber
Inside the soul of Rome
BDB Rooms Trastevere is located at Via Benedetta 12, in the heart of Rome's Rione XIII, one of the oldest, most photographed, and most beloved neighborhoods of the Eternal City. The name "Trastevere" derives from the Latin trans Tiberim, literally "beyond the Tiber": even in antiquity, this was a land apart, with a proud character and a population with a strong identity. That character has never been lost. Even today, walking through its cobblestone alleys, among pastel-colored shutters, climbing wisteria, and the scent of ragù from open kitchens, gives the feeling of a Rome that has never surrendered to time.
The neighborhood that never runs out
Trastevere always has something to give
Life in the neighborhood revolves around Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, with its ancient basilica and the large fountain that serves as a meeting point for Romans and tourists at all hours of the day. Just a few steps away is Piazza Trilussa, the heart of the nightlife scene and a gathering place for street artists, young people, and travelers. Then there are the hidden alleys, artisan workshops, and trattorias without English menus: those places you can only discover on foot, by turning the right corner at the right moment.
Trastevere is known as one of the most famous nightlife districts in Rome, but during the day it welcomes those looking for the atmosphere of old Rome, among artisan workshops, small family-run shops, and charming little squares.
